Well, this is it. The moment you’ve been waiting for. The time that you’ve been praying for. The “vacation” you wished for, and the break you needed. This is it. This is what you’ve been waiting for. God has issued the ultimate global directive of “Everybody Sit Down”! Now everything has shifted, and what are you going to do to take advantage of it? At a minimum, everyone has to pause, stop, or adjust their version of normal for the next thirty days.

The time that you thought you didn’t have enough of, you now have plenty! So much time that some people are already stir crazy. But just think, now that thing that you’re supposed to do that you’ve been putting off, it can finally come to pass. Write the book. Do the podcast. Write the screenplay. Organize your house. Organize your life. Meditate. Journal. Help people. Volunteer for organizations, food banks, or nonprofits that need helping hands to do the things that they’ve been struggling to do all of this time.

For those people who are working from home, congratulations! Now, you’ll get to master the art of multitasking, especially if you’re a parent. It takes artful skill to do your work, take care of your house, and help your children, all at the same time. I mean, you have to adjust everything that you’ve been doing now that the kids are out of school for an extended period of time. Dig a little deeper and find out what they know, what they don’t know, and how you can help continue the learning at home.

These teachers, who truly deserve to have a break, are still working: emailing assignments and lesson plans to do at home; encouraging parents that, yes, they really can do this, and still love on our babies from a distance. And, this is all while most of them have children of their own. (Side note: if nothing else, we can certainly agree that teachers don’t get paid enough!)

Communication is gonna be key on all fronts on how we successfully move through this time in our lives. Are we able to talk to each other? Are we effectively doing that? Are we having clear conversations? Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your perspective, in situations like these, you’re going to figure out exactly where you stand with people because there’s no other place to figure it out. I’ve seen Mom friends unite to provide ideas on games, activities, and even creative discipline for our precious angels. You got nothing but time.

So, since you’ve been training your whole life for this moment, just like when Cinco de Mayo landed on a Tuesday, you are prepared to take advantage of this perfect alignment. You’ve been given at least thirty days to do things differently, to change your mind, adjust your thinking and your perspective to become a better human; become a better parent; become a better spouse.

I’m sure we can all clearly identify some area of your life that you should be doing or working on for either ourselves or the greater good; then, this is the moment. This is the time. No excuses. No reasons why we can’t or anything like that. The time is now! The time is today! Let’s get to it!
